Graeme Hodges – Myotherapy & Chinese Medicine

  • Chinese Herbal Medicine PractitionerIMG_0828
  • Acupuncturist
  • Myotherapist
  • Tui Na Massage Therapist
  • Certified mBIT Coach

Graeme graduated from RMIT University in 2003, having completed an Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy and a Bachelor of Chinese Medicine – which includes a final-year clinical internship at the Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Nanjing, China.

Working in the “corporate world” in his early career, Graeme experienced first-hand the toll that an office-bound job can have on the body. His own pain journey lead him to eventually choose to take responsibility for his own health and wellbeing by becoming better educated in the field of wellness – and hence the gradual transition into the healing arts in his mid-30’s .

Graeme has practised throughout Australia as well as in China and his treatment philosophy is based upon this very personal experience of pain and dysfunction, which has evolved into his individualised model of care, whereby each person and their set of symptoms are assessed and treated based on their own unique merits –  following which a personalised treatment plan is discussed, agreed upon, implemented and reviewed at each stage of your particular care cycle.

More recently, Graeme has also been integrating techniques from the relatively new field of mBIT (i.e. multiple brain integration techniques) into his consultations and clients are reporting improved understanding and self-management of factors affecting their personal wellbeing – as well as the ability to then integrate the learnings, enabling them to make wiser choices in both their personal and professional lives. See links below for further information regarding mBIT.

Graeme believes that different problems may respond to similar solutions/treatments, just as similar problems may require vastly different solutions or treatment – and in this way he may employ one or any of these therapeutic tools available to him when discussing your individual concerns.

Depending on your unique presenting condition and tolerances, this may include techniques across the breadth of his training in myotherapy, tui na, acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and/or mBIT.

Each person responds differently, but following a treatment from Graeme you can expect some of the following benefits:

  • Increased mobility and range of motion
  • Decreased stiffness, tightness and soreness
  • Decreased pain and dysfunction
  • Reduced stress, anxiety and pain
  • Learn how to own your pain and dysfunction
  • Appreciate how small and simple changes can bring lasting benefits
  • Return to optimal function and happiness
  • Improved quality of life and a reinvigorated sense of self

Graeme holds the following qualifications:

  • Certified mBIT Coach
  • Graduate Diploma in Health Industry Management, Curtin University
  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Chinese Medicine), RMIT University
  • Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy, RMIT University
